The night before ANZAC day so of course we treated it like a Friday night.

Thursday: a no-good very-bad ANZAC day

Saturday: flowers at Laura's and a Jewish honey cake behind it
Saturday
Laura had Kim and Kate and I around to watch The Hour (yes, again) but just a few episodes this time. She made delicious Jewish honey cake.

I really really should get better at the self portrait part of this. It’s just, the light in our room is so terrible. It’s only ever too bright or too dark.

Sunday: darling husband wore my favourite t-shirt
Sunday
On our way home from weekly dinner with my family, Craig wears my favourite of his shirts, and cleans the windscreen of our rarely used car.

Monday: heading home after seeing my Petra
Monday
An old friend was visiting from Melbourne. We caught up for drinks and I walked home via this giant statue.

Tuesday: dawn on the waterfront
Tuesday
It is getting darker in the mornings. I don’t mind this so much as I get to see dawn on the harbour more frequently.

Wednesday: golden light makes graffiti lovely
Wednesday
This car park building, despite the lovely graffiti, never looks as good as it does in the light of golden hour.

Thursday: my favourite shop in Wellington
Thursday
Brown and Co is quite possibly my favourite shop in Wellington. Ostensibly for the “masculine” design aesthetic, the menagerie of taxidermy and overpriced toothpaste in glorious packaging speaks to me.

Friday: 12 hours of The Hour
Friday
Good Friday. Three friends and I gathered together to watch all twelve episodes of the inestimable BBC drama The Hour. We drank whisky and ate snacks and swooned over Freddie and Bel and Hector and Marnie and Lix and Mr Brown.

Saturday: free beer
Saturday
I woke at 7am to a text advising me I had a free beer. I woke again at 9 to a text from Laura telling me it was she who had signed me up and would I like to meet her for a beer?
Free is my favourite amount to pay for Heineken. So we met for beer and to set the world to rights.

I am currently sitting silent, communicating with Craig through exaggerated expressions and notes written on my iPhone. I’ve managed to break my voice.

Saturday: St Patrick's Day tattoo from Craigy Lee at ALC Speakeasy Tattoo

Craigy Lee at ALC Speakeasy did flash tattoos for St Patrick’s day. A wee spot of good luck on my ankle.

Tuesday: a special delivery of Marmite! I had missed it so.
Tuesday
Deliveries spread* around the complex and it was ever so exciting. We each got a wee pottle of Marmite hours before it was on sale to the general public.

Wednesday: headed to the supermarket for cold medication. Praying for a miracle.
Wednesday
Admitting that maybe, just maybe, I was coming down with a cold I trekked to the supermarket.

Thursday: sick day
Thursday
And then a sick-day. Bed, terrible crime shows, and Things and Ink magazine.

Friday: I should have gone straight home after work

Saturday: cider and custard square

Kim and I went to watch Laura get her nose pierced. We then retired to Meow for a beer. I also had a custard square and it was an excellent decision.
